They offer protection from the elements and convenience of being lockable and having multiple carry/grab options (including wheels). Kit Components US ARMY CHEMICAL MATERIALS ACTIVITY Description/Use: Suunto Tandem, Inclinometer The inclinometer is a site survey tool and can be used in many ways. You can determine accurate heading (compass) directions, measure slopes and measure inaccessible heights (with a little math). Kit Components US ARMY CHEMICAL MATERIALS ACTIVITY Description/Use: Pocket Magnifier, Combination(x5/x7/x12) The pocket magnifier is great for inspecting paint scratches and other damaged areas. A magnification rating of 10x is useful in a variety of applications. It is also handy to mark where you find debris as you move about the accident site. Kit Components US ARMY CHEMICAL MATERIALS ACTIVITY Description/Use: Digital Voice Recorder The digital voice recorder is obviously great for any interviews you may need to conduct but it also can be used to dictate site notes to in situations where the elements are not favorable for pen/paper note taking (rain, wind/dust, etc). Kit Components US ARMY CHEMICAL MATERIALS ACTIVITY Description/Use: Light, Headlamp The headlamp is invaluable in a nighttime accident investigation but it can also be very useful when you need both of your hands to examine items or need to look in confined spaces. Recommend you find one that is metal/hardened aluminum (aircraft grade), waterproof, LED bulb (or bulbs) and produces 80 Lumen of light or more. It can also be used to tie things off if rope or alternates are not available. Recommend minimum flag 3”x2.5” and 30” rod size and 50 flags or more depending on the expected size of you accident scene. It can also be used to wrap up large exhibits/evidence. Finally it makes a good shelter from sun/rain if you need it. It also is a very competent hammer, useful for site setup. Be sure to cleaning equipment and extra batteries to ensure it is ready for use.
