Problem Statement
Our project is to design a process for the
production of fuel grade ethanol from
unconventional sources.
• Design a production process using chemical
engineering principles and HYSYS simulations.
• Using ASTM specifications for automobile fuel grade
ethanol.
• From a resource that would not take up food
production resources and or hurt the environment.

Conclusion
Currently we are leaning toward algae assuming
we are able to get permission to use it.
