Mark 5:21-43
The 5 Gifts of Healing
We will believe that Jesus
healed.
Do we believe that Jesus still
heals ?
Reason #1 :
Healing confirms the Truth of the Gospel
(physical healing is proof of the deeper
healing that the Gospel will bring)
Mark 1:32-34 : Beginning of Jesus’ ministry;
Mark 3:1-5 : Man with the Shriveled Hand
Reason #2 :
Healing is given in Response to Faith
Mark 1:29-31 – Simon’s mother-in-law;
Mark 1:40-45 – The man with leprosy;
Mark 2:1-12 – The paralytic;
Mark 5:21-43 – The woman with the bleeding
issue;
Mark 7:24-30 – Syrophoenician woman;
Mark 7:31-37 – Deaf-and-Mute Man;
Mark 8:22-26 – Blind man at Bethsaida;
Mark 10:46-52 – Blind Bartimaeus
Reason #2 :
Healing is given in Response to Faith

Lack of Faith will limit even Jesus
– Mark 6:5-6 : “Jesus could not do
any miracles there … Jesus was
amazed at their lack of faith”
James 5:14-16
“Is any one of you sick ?
He should call the elders of the church to pray over
him and anoint him with oil in the name of the
Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make
the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.
If he has sinned, he will be forgiven.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray
for each other so that you may be healed. The
prayer of a righteous man is powerful and
effective.”
1 Corinthians 12:28
“And in the church God has appointed first of all
apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then
workers of miracles, also those having gifts of
healing, those able to help others, those with
gifts of administration, and those speaking in
different kinds of tongues.”

Healing from Death – Ultimate
Healing (Eternal Life).
(Inner Healing).
Helen Keller (1880 – 1968) was an American
author, activist and lecturer. She
campaigned for women's suffrage, workers'
rights, as well as many other progressive
causes
Some of Helen Keller’s Quotes :
All the world is full of suffering. It is also
full of overcoming.
I am only one, but still I am one. I
cannot do everything, but still I can do
something; and because I cannot do
everything, I will not refuse to do
something that I can do.
Some of Helen Keller’s Quotes :
Instead of comparing our lot with that of
those who are more fortunate than we
are, we should compare it with the lot
of the great majority of our fellow men.
It then appears that we are among the
privileged.
Life is an exciting business, and most
exciting when it is lived for others.
Some of Helen Keller’s Quotes :
The only thing worse than being blind is
having sight but no vision.
Death is no more than passing from one
room into another. But there's a
difference for me, you know. Because in
that other room I shall be able to see.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18
“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though
outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly
we are being renewed day by day.
For our light and momentary troubles are
achieving for us an eternal glory that far
outweighs them all.
So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on
what is unseen, since what is seen is
temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
Bible passages that accept (without
surprise or anguish) that miraculous
physical healing did not take place.
(For example : 2 Tim 4:20; Philippians 2:2527; 1 Tim 5:23; Gal 4:13-14).

“The body is a miracle of complexity and
sophistication that exceeds comprehension.
Fortunately, most of it runs on automatic
pilot – the heart beats, the blood circulates,
the glands secrete, the enzymes catalyze,
the electrolytes balance, the glucose
metabolizes, the liver detoxifies. Even our
thinking and breathing are largely automatic
and involuntary; our brain and lungs function
NOT because we tell them to but because
GOD tells them to.
God gave us an amazing gift, and all we are
required to do is to feed it, water it, rest it
and move it. Yet it needs to be the right food,
water, rest and movement. If we do our
assignment well, we will work better, run
better, feel better, heal better and live
better.”
– Dr Richard Swenson, author of “Margin”
3 John 2

good health and that all may go well
