RCI is an international association of professional consultants who are experts in building envelope system specification and design. • Roofing •Waterproofing •Exterior Wall Systems An International Membership RCI’s current membership numbers more than 2,700 Includes an international constituency residing in all 50 U.S. States, Canada, China, Australia and the United Kingdom. The RCI Mission The mission of RCI is to ensure the credibility of the roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall consulting professions. To provide for the professional development of our current and future members To represent the interests and values of the current and future membership To convey the association's perspective to the public and to the roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall industries To support professionalism, ethical behavior, education, career opportunities and research in the roofing, waterproofing, exterior wall, and related industries Expanded Mission While originally a roofingspecific association, in March of 2006, RCI expanded its mission and service scope to include waterproofing and exterior wall systems. This action reflects the understanding that roofing issues often influence the entire building envelope. In increasing frequency, RCI members are called upon to address buildingwide concerns from below-grade to rooftop. Consultants understand the greater picture – they design solutions with the entire building envelope in mind. Consultants routinely investigate and specify transitions between systems, such as roofing and masonry. Daily experience with maintaining, repairing, and replacing the spectrum of roofing systems enables a consultant to provide unbiased recommendations regarding system performance and return on investment information. The single most important building envelope consultant characteristic is his or her unique perspective in the complex building life cycle. RCI’s consultant members are involved with every facet of the building life cycle, from commissioning and pre-design services, to designdevelopment, to post construction, to demolition.
