Warehousing, Configuration and Maintenance
It involves all activities that must be accomplished before, during and after
equipment production, and the preparation of all equipment and
consumables that will be used during tests and main event.
It also includes the delivery, as well as retrieval, of the material required for
all activities. In order to do that, central and regional warehouses are
installed in a strategic locations where the deployment engagement of the
project will be executed.

Material Storage: The requirer space for storage area is calculated depending on the
equipment inventory’s quantity, dimensions and volume, adapted to securely and safely
store the equipment and peripherals from their reception until their delivery to the
client.

Diagnosis: In this stage all the electoral Kits’ components are diagnosed (laptop, voting
machine, transmission devices, etc.), verifying their functionality, identifying them and
registering them in the inventory in order to be stored until the kits configuration begins,

Assembly: All the equipment, devices and supplies are packed into Kits specially
customized and identified for the specific location where to be used,

validation is made to verify that the 100% of the packages contain all the components

Quality Control: For the quality control a random sample of packages already verified is
chosen to make a full diagnosis to verify the correct operability of the components and
application. In case that any failure is detected, this component will be replaced or fixed
to complete the kit,

Logistics deployment will cover all machine and paraphernalia movement outside of the Central
Warehouse. From the time it is dispatched from the Central Warehouse reaching its final destination
(Forward Logistics) until it is retrieved and recovered from the site and is returned back to the Central
Warehouse (Reverse Logistics) for all electoral events involved in the project. The equipment may
pass through strategically located Regional Warehouses depending on the location of the final
destination.

As a measure to guarantee the operational efficiency of the
entire electoral process on Election Day as well as the prior
milestones and events, Smartmatic shall provide, depending
on the needs of the project, a National Support Center (NSC)
or Regional Support Center (RSC) to assist and monitor all
field personnel in technical matters.

•Specially trained personnel to provide technical assistance to equipment in
field, diagnosing and repairing technical failures. If any issue can´t be solved
locally, they can contact the NSC.
•A Call Center that serve as a remote technical support center that handles all
equipment-related concerns of field personnel, to assure the total operation
of the equipments. The NSC is organized by rooms according to areas of
functionality or support.
•Small Regional Call Centers that provides localized administrative support,
taking care of all administrative concerns including tracking the field
personnel, delivery of equipment and its peripherals, and implementation of
contingency plans as necessary. If it is only required 1 RSC, it can be placed
physically in the NSC as a separated room.
•Provides technical assistance by repairing or replacing damaged equipment. It
can support remote assistance through phone calls but it does not have a call
center infrastructure like the NSC or RSC.

Training Plan
The training plan includes different modules of training in accordance with the role to be
performed by the trainees. Consists of theoretical and practical sessions covering the
equipment, software and hardware to be used by each role focusing in the operational
functions, including technical support and instructions for logistical procedures.
The program is conducted through a Train-Of-Trainers scheme wherein Smartmatic
Specialists train the trainer candidates who will later replicate the training to operators and
technicians.
