Industrial CMC PM-RS / March 2011 1 Industrial CMC III Where did it start? Where is it headed? Rittal supplies infrastructure for IT HP server - Racks - Climate Control - UPS - Power distribution - Physical reliability - CMC III Software, applications and services Rittal supplies infrastructure for industrial applications PLC PM-RS / March 2011 - Enclosures - Climate control - Industrial UPS - Power distribution - Industrial CMC 2 Manufacturing Execution System (MES) Automation pyramid Rittal infrastructure solution for industry Company level IT Operations control level Plan Capture Data Industrial application (Process)control level IE Conrol level Input/Output signals OPC / SNMP CMC III Field level I/O Manufacturing/production process Enclosure monitoring with CMC III integrated in the automation pyramid PM-RS / March 2011 3 Industrial CMC III Purpose of measurement data capture Before efficiency can be enhanced in industrial applications, measurement data needs to be captured. Data can be linked in the SCADA system in conjunction with process data from the PLC machine control system. Measurement data to the SCADA system – via OPC / SNMP – via RiZone databases / process database Result-oriented effective energy saving (customer benefits) – Major energy consumers can be covered and set to come on for a specific time – Major energy consumers can be replaced with efficient systems – Comprehensive, result-oriented analyses are possible – The service life of components can be extended – Automated measures possible without input from personnel PM-RS / March 2011 4 Industrial CMC III Rittal infrastructure solution for industry Remote, automatic notification of service team Integrated functions @ Temperature data logger ON Door monitoring OFF CAN bus Monitoring and measuring data capture S0 bus for measuring power Analog input 4-20 mA Control of AC fans, via 2-point control Control and monitoring of Rittal climate control units Measurement of: - Temperature - Humidity - Air current - Pressure differential - etc. Control and monitoring Measurement of access to of: enclosure Voltage - Current - cos phi - Active power - Apparent power - Work - etc. PM-RS / March 2011 Fuel cell Direct Ethernet interface PCU LCP Industrial UPS 5 Industrial CMC III Extended application area The industrial CMC III has been designed for enclosures and housings. The CMC III satisfies all fundamental requirements. Power supply and installation – Power supply through terminals with 24 V DC – Installed on enclosure frame or mounting plate Functions – – – – – – – – – Monitoring of the Rittal climate control unit E-mail notification of open door or over-temperature E-mail notification of need to replace filter mats for maintenance purposes Graphical representation of temperature profile for analyses Activation of 24 V DC enclosure light when door is open (230 V available as option) Deactivation of cooling unit when door is open Economical solution for individual enclosures Extendible thanks to CAN bus sensors Optional access system for enclosure PM-RS / March 2011 6 Industrial CMC III Control station link Control station systems are often used in building technology and industry, and these systems need to be supplied with monitoring information in the network. It makes no sense to transfer this information via a third system such as controls. Rittal offers a solution in the from of an integrated OPC server, which is compatible with 99 % of control stations. Information can be transmitted directly to the control station system. Direct support of control station systems – Building Management System (BMS) – Building services management (GLT) – Supervisor Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) OLE for Process Control OPC – Object Linking and Embedding – an object system developed by Microsoft for linking different documents.
