All Rights Reserved. 11 Model 1 – Establish a NSDC Skill Centre • NSDC Partners provide a basket of skills programs in multiple sectors. • In areas of operation or adoption, PSEs can look into setting up new centres tied to the aspirations of the local youth. • The program could be a combination of trades (retail, automotive, hospitality, ITES, etc.) and Self-employment programs (mobile repair, auto mechanic, etc. NSDC Partner: IL&FS, Madhya Pradesh GAIL through its CSR program has supported IL&FS to establish skill centers in Guna (MP), Bilwara (MP) and Tandur (AP). 12 Proprietary and confidential. World Skills, Leipzig, Germany 2013 • NSDC is the country’s coordinating body for the World Skills competition, equivalent of Skill Olympics. • Indian team - 24 participants covering 22 unique skills out of the total of 46 categories at the Leipzig Competition • In the recently help competition, three Indian students bag “Medallion of Excellence” at the World Skills Competition at Leipzig, Germany • The three winners are as follows: • Sarthak Jain (IT and Software Solution for Business) – 17 years old just passed out of school • Bhahesh Chandra Jana (Jewellery) - Class 5 dropout • Arun Raj Balasubramani (Graphic Design Technology) - Graphic designer who has not been able to enrol for a bachelor’s degree 19 Proprietary and confidential.
