Mrs. Bourgeois Class
6 Months Before
• Tommy Feathers
asks Rachel White
to the school
dance. Rachel lets
him down gently
and says no. The
next day Missy
calls and tells her
Tommy died.
Friday, April 28 7:03 A.M.
• Rachel lays in bed
reading until her mom
calls for her to get up.
She then goes in the
bathroom to get
ready. While in there
she clears her throat
and the guttural sound
startled her.
Mrs. Muchmore
• Wendy Muchmore
woke up with a
vigorous headache and
every bone in her body
ached. She was
supposed to
substitute for Mr.
Fabiano but she called
in because she didn’t
feel well.
Kids Rule!!!
– Rachel thinks about the
little stuff she sees.
Meanwhile Karen comes
back from the office
and starts going through
the lesson plans and
decides to do the
spelling test. Jessica
calls out the words while
the other students take
the test.
Music
• The kids finish flash
drafts then realize it’s
time to go to music.
They walk quietly to
the music room by
themselves. They
practice their song
and Mrs. Ickerngill
says they’ve done
wonderful.
Snack
• The kids came back
from music and took
out their snacks along
with their math books.
Rachel offers some of
her chips to Missy and
Sean. While eating
Rachel thinks about
how she used to meet
with the school
psychologist at this
time.
Lunch
• The class decides to
walk quietly to lunch
by themselves and try
to blend in. They
decide to tell the
other classes that
they have no teacher.
While at lunch the
class tells the other
classes and make them
swear not to tell.
Rock Ritual
– The class decides since it was
Bastian’s last day to do a rock
ritual ,they all have a turn
passing around the rock and
sharing memories. When it’s
Rachel’s turn she writes
about how Bastian used to
tease Tommy and they have
an argument. when the
argument is finally over both
of them are crying Bastian
takes the rock and throws it
out the window and runs out
the room.
Tommy Feathers
• The kids are still
shocked from the
argument. Before
Rachel starts writing
she goes over to the
stereo and puts on
Tommy’s favorite song
he used to sing while
he wrote. When
Bastian comes back
Rachel lays her paper
on his desk and before
she could sit down
Mr.Peacock comes over
the announcements and
calls the 6th grade
classes to the
assembly.
Tuesday, May 2 8:20
A.M.
• The class write
letters to Bastian and
tell him what
happened when they
got back to school on
Monday. Sean writes
to him about Barkly
and how Barkly is
doing. Bastian writes
back and tells them
his dad might get
transferred back.
