Who Was Rachel Scott
• "People ask me all the time, 'What was Rachel like as a sister?' I always
have to say that she was as normal as my other sister.
She was fun, goofy, dramatic... sometimes we got along, sometimes we
didn't. Rachel was an easy person to love.
Even though Rachel was my little sister I am the one looking up to her." Bethanee Scott (McCandless), Rachel's Sister
• "Rachel was the most incredible, passionate person I've ever met in my
life. Before she passed away she took my yearbook, and she wrote some
stuff in there. One thing she wrote to me was, 'Sarah, don't let your
character change color with your environment. Find who you are and let
it stay in its true colors." - Sarah Scott Rachel's Cousin
• "Rachel lived a life filled with kindness and compassion, and because of
it, she's changed the world." - Craig Scott Rachel's Brother

and her Beliefs
“My Ethics, My Codes of Life”
Rachel Scott
English, period 5
• “My biggest aspects of ethics include being
honest, compassionate, and looking for the
best and beauty in everyone.”
• “My definition of compassion is forgiving,
loving, helping, leading, and showing mercy
for others.”
• “Trust, compassion, and beauty will make this
world a better place to be.”
Rachel’s Beliefs
• “I Wouldn’t Be Labeled as Average.” This was
written in the journal Rachel had with her the
day she was killed at Columbine.
• On the back of her dresser she wrote, “These
hands belong to Rachel Joy Scott and someday
will touch millions of people’s hearts”.
• “Compassion is the greatest form of love
humans have to offer”, written in her essay.
“I have this theory that if one person can go
out of their way to show compassion then it
will start a CHAIN REACTION of the same.”
