






Each writes down their own family
belief (2 minutes).
Share beliefs in groups of 4-6
people. Seek to understand (4-6
minutes).
Come to consensus on beliefs the
whole group agrees on. Write
them down (4 minutes).
Large group develops a belief list
(5-10 minutes).
Clarify terms on the list.
Dialogue about term where there
is not agreement.
Establish small groups to dialogue
and seek best knowledge.

CLASSROOM AGREEMENTS
Through a discussion with the children about their values
and beliefs, students will build a common picture of how
they will work togehter in the classroom. From this
discussion students will establish a classroom agreement.
Each agreement will be unique, buthte theme of respect
and working as a tem from the school belief will be a
common focus. The following is just one example of a
classroom agreement.

Kind words and actions
Respect for our room and classmates
Be a positive “team player”
“Our Team”
We are all different.
There is room for everyone.
We will respect each other.
We will work together and help each other.
Each teacher will send home a letter including their
classroom agreement.
