In the beginning your child will finish at 11.30am to ensure a smooth transition into school and help them (and you) make the adjustment to the continental day. By half term FS2 children will finish at 12.30. • After their first day they will be able to travel to school on the school bus in the mornings. You may wish to continue bringing your child to school for the first few weeks. More details about buses can be obtained from the Housing Office on Station. • On your child's first day please bring them directly to the classroom, where you can help him/her find his/her named coat peg and bring him/her into his/her new class. Please feel free to stay as long as is necessary! On all subsequent mornings, they can go directly to the Key Stage 1 playground, where there will be a teacher on duty from 07.15am. During the morning, children will enjoy a drink and snack. The food offered would vary from day to day, including food that the children have cooked or prepared themselves. Children will also be encouraged to try new foods. Milk and water will be available. Snack time is also used as an opportunity to promote appropriate table manners, service others, taking turns, preparing and clearing up afterwards. Parents may wish to provide food if a child is leaving or celebrating a birthday. Please let us know if your child has any allergies. The weekly charge is €2.50 per child, payable half termly in advance. (You will receive a bill stating the required amount). Please ensure they bring in snacks to sustain them during this time. Common sense dictates that chocolate is not suitable in the warm Cyprus climate! Water is always available from drinking fountains around the school although your child may also wish to bring in a carton of drink, no glass bottles or cans please. Children should always be encouraged to drink plenty of liquid, especially during the hot summer months. No sweets should be brought to school Children can bring a water bottle for the classroom. It must be named and have a sports style mouth piece. They should be refilled at home daily. A healthy juice bar runs every Friday for KS1 and KS2 children. Drinks are 1 Euro each, they are 100% fruit juice and all profits go to the school council. KS1 and Foundation children are offered free fruit each day.
