Parents and schools need to work together
in order to prevent the rise of problems like
violence, criminal behavior, and suicide that
are associated with bullying.
Violence is a major problem that is
associated with students who exhibit
bullying behaviors.
To begin with,
“bullying is one of the major causes of
violence in schools” (Pearson, 2009)

Oftentimes, students who get into fights
at school do so because of the need for
attention. Violent acts in schools must
be handled effectively so that rates of
violence decrease. Students who exhibit
violent behaviors should be immediately
addressed so the problem does not
further escalate.
Clearly, counselors and other school
officials need to intervene in order to
ensure a safe environment for all.
