Grade 6 girls in a traditional classroom since the WV school cannot accommodate all the girls following increased
enrolment in the school. When it starts to rain the girls will automatically have to be released from school for the day and
this highly compromise their learning.

Umzeifa grade 1 girls in a modern classroom. The youngest girls of the school are accommodated in the modern structure
since they may not be able to run faster to shelter or to their homes on days that it rains.

Umzeifa Girls School Drinking water facility constructed – Water is collected & stored in these traditional containers for the
students since there is no pipe borne water system in the community.
This will prevent the student traveling long distances to look for drinking water during lunch breaks as is the case in many
traditional schools in Sudan and many other developing countries

Jackson, (3rd from left), World Vision staff from Canada with girls of the Umzeifa Girls school, their head teacher (1st from left
and her deputy (2nd from left) during a visit to the school on January 21st , 2012.
Jackson, “This school is a wonderful contribution to this community, the first of its kind in Umzeifa village. All the girls in the
community of school going age are scrambling to enroll in the school. Unfortunately the school is not able to accommodate the
already 407 students enrolled in the first year. This means the administration will continue to accommodate the rest of the girls in
the traditional classrooms. Canadian students have made a huge impact on this community.”
Umzeifa girls extending their gratitude to their counterparts in Canada for the support they have provided them in realizing this
school through World Vision. “THANK
YOU”
