PROFIEL
Corry GJM Ehlen (Sittard, Nederland) voltooide de middelbare school en behaalde een
Bachelor diploma Sociaal - Cultureel Werk. In 1975 studeerde ze af aan de Universiteit van
Amsterdam, waar ze Andragologie studeerde en zich specialiseerde in het
volwassenenonderwijs en organisatieontwikkeling.
Het grootste deel van haar professionele leven was ze gericht op het volwassenenonderwijs,
beroepsopleidingen, curriculumontwikkeling en organisatorische innovatie. Van 1972-1975
werkte zij als trainer, begeleider en coördinator in het beroepsonderwijs. Van 1975-1999 was
zij docent in de sociale wetenschappen in het hoger onderwijs. Als een curriculum
ontwikkelaar ontwierp ze een aantal nieuwe educatieve stromen op het gebied van sociaal en
cultureel werk. Van 1981 - 1991 was zij coördinerend directeur.
Op internationaal niveau was ze vijf jaar (1990-1995) de programmamanager van een
Europese Tempus-project voor de ontwikkeling van curricula aan de universiteit van
Boekarest (Roemenië) en nam deel aan verschillende transnationale samenwerkingsprojecten.
Van 1999 - 2008 werkte zij als beleidsmedewerker 'onderwijs, onderzoek, en corporate
strategie' voor de Raad van Bestuur aan de Hogeschool Zuyd, een fusie van zeven
onafhankelijke regionale instellingen voor hoger onderwijs. In haar hoedanigheid van
programmamanager ontwierp zij organisatie innovatieprogramma's en ontwikkelde en
implementeerde ze nieuwe educatieve strategieën op de nieuw gevormde Hogeschool Zuyd.
Haar promotieonderzoek aan de Open Universiteit richt zich op het ondersteunen van
professionals die betrokken zijn bij grootschalige educatieve innovatieprogramma's, waarbij
ze 'sociaal kapitaal' theorie en begrippen als 'co-creatie' toepast en verspreidt.
Als lid van de Nederlandse NGO voor senior internationale experts (PUM), is ze momenteel
werkzaam als adviseur en trainer op universiteiten in Rwanda, Vietnam en Colombia. Recent
ontwikkelde ze een co-creatie project tussen universiteiten en industrieën in Colombia. Ze is
een trainer van PUM-experts in 'interculturele adviseren'.
Als partner van CoCreata Consulting, is ze consultant, trainer en onderzoeker in de Kunst-,
Gezondheidszorg- en Onderwijssector.
Corry Ehlen is moeder van Jérôme en Cathérine Delnooz en pleegmoeder van Jerome
Irankunda, Rwanda.
CURRICULUM VITAE
Corry G.J.M. Ehlen (Sittard, the Netherlands) completed grammar school and obtained a
Bachelor degree Social – Cultural Work. In 1975 she graduated from the University of
Amsterdam, where she studied Andragology and specialized in adult education and
organizational development.
For most of her professional life she focused on adult education, professional
training/education, curriculum development and organizational innovation. From 1972-1975
she worked as trainer, supervisor and coordinator in vocational education. From 1975-1999
she was a lecturer in social science in higher education. As a curriculum developer she
designed several new educational streams in areas of social and cultural work. From 1981 –
1991 she was coordinating director.
On the international level she was for five years (1990-1995) the program manager of a
European TEMPUS project for curriculum development at the University of Bucharest
(Romania) and participated in several transnational collaboration projects.
From 1999 – 2008 she worked as a policy advisor ‘education, research, and corporate
strategy’ for the board of governors at the Zuyd University, which is a merger of seven
independent regional institutions for higher education. In her capacity of program manager
she designed corporate innovation programs, developing and implementing new educational
strategies at the newly formed Zuyd University.
Her PhD study at the Open Universiteit focuses on supporting professionals involved in largescale educational innovation programs, applying and extending ‘social capital’ theory and
concepts such as ‘co-creation’.
As a member of the Dutch NGO for senior international experts (PUM), she is currently
working as an advisor and trainer at universities in Rwanda, Vietnam and Colombia. Recently
she developed a co-creation project between universities and industries in Colombia. She is a
trainer of PUM-experts in ‘intercultural advising’.
As partner of Co-Creata Consulting, she is a consultant, trainer and researcher in the Art-,
Health-Care and Educational sector.
Corry Ehlen is mother of Jérôme and Cathérine Delnooz and foster mother of Jerome
Irankunda, Rwanda.
