Status: Planning complete (open to Cobh/Glanmire/City North East & West).
Pilot: Successfully completed in Cobh/Glanmire sector with author and Sinead Lawless.
Focus: Recovery orientated support group – content is participant driven and guided
within the parameters of discussion and support.
Evaluated by families.
Advantages: Research evidence suggests that professionally facilitated support groups
assist families in the crisis and post crisis situations. Support groups are also cost
effective.

Name: Family Intervention Meetings
Target: Families in crisis referred from MDT
Sessions: 5 Family Intervention Meetings

Focus on: family communication whilst
promoting social functioning, emotional
support, familial education and problem
solving.

Additional case management support- UCC
Tier Three:
Name: Individual Family Therapy Sessions
Target: Families who have come through
phase one and two or three and require
further assistance.
Status: Planning Complete.
Focus: Family assessment followed by a
subsequent offer of Family Therapy.
Referrals from the MDT.
Evaluated by families.
Therapist: Orla Bushnell. Supervision in
UCD and case management in NLMHS
