Tier Two: Name: Family Support Group Target: Families referred from FOM or directly from MDT. Status: Planning complete (open to Cobh/Glanmire/City North East & West). Pilot: Successfully completed in Cobh/Glanmire sector with author and Sinead Lawless. Focus: Recovery orientated support group – content is participant driven and guided within the parameters of discussion and support. Evaluated by families. Advantages: Research evidence suggests that professionally facilitated support groups assist families in the crisis and post crisis situations. Support groups are also cost effective.
