We develop customized web-based applications. Some of our clients are Luminus, Heerema, Bayer, and De Lijn. Our department APEX Health focuses on digital healthcare applications. What APEX Health wants to do next, is to release a Wearables Project. We want to bring wearables such as the Apple Watch or the Microsoft band into action in oncology in order to automatically collect data from patients. (Integrating the Apple Research Kit into the project is an option.) A wearables application has to be created, .... Research has to be done into the security and scalability to evaluate the processes when 1, 10, 100, 1000 patients use the wearables. One of our goals is to submit the application to the appstore. More technical following needs to happen: Creation of a mobile and wearable application, a REST API and a backend application on top of an Oracle database (or big data provider). The application needs to be designed, wire-framed, tested and submitted to the appstore. We want to bring wearables such as the Apple Watch or the Microsoft band into action in oncology in order to automatically collect data from patients. Integrating the Apple Research Kit into the project is an option. Research has to be done in order to find which wearables and which parameters can be automated and which of these are important for doctors/hospitals/pharma. In addition, we want to create two-way communication between doctor and patient. Furthermore, it could be interesting to analyse data through Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in order to discover trends in the population, for example to find side effects of a particular drug.
