Michal Narozny is an economist and econometrician. He had been working as a university teacher of micro- and macro-economics in Wroclaw, Poland, before joining in 2005 the European Commission's Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs. In DG ECFIN he first worked as a country desk officer for Poland and later on in a horizontal unit being responsible for coordinating economic forecasts for EU Member States and for analysing the economic situation in the EU. Since 2014 Michal has reinforced the Impact assessment unit at the Secretariat-General of the European Commission where he follows IAs from DGs CNECT, ECFIN, ESTAT, JRC, TAXUD and OLAF as well as oversees methodological issues linked to quantitative methods and administrative burden and – last but not least – 'soft' policy instruments in the EU law-making.
