Canadian Provinces Review Activities

Curriculum Strand: Social Studies: Canada and World Connections (Grade 4)
Name and locate the various physical regions, provinces, and territories of Canada and identify
the chief natural resources of each.
Minds on Activity or Review Video:
(Slide 3) Watch the episode of My Canada “Provinces” to begin you lesson or review Canadian
Provinces.
Computer lab Games for Review:
(Slide 4) Canada’s Treasure Trek Game. Students can choose from 3 levels of difficulty. The
object of the game is to place the Provinces on the map of Canada. There are also Canadian
trivia questions which pop up throughout the game.
(Slide 5) My Canada Game. Have students play in pairs to see who can go the furthest. The
object of this game is to click on the Provinces in the same order as the computer. The more
rounds you win the more complex the pattern.
Extensions:
As students research the provinces, have them create review question of their own.
