Spirit
John 3:5-8 Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say

Humans can reproduce only human life, but the
Holy Spirit gives new life from heaven. The wind
blows where it chooses, and you hear

We are "renewed" of the
Holy Spirit
Titus 3:4-6 But when the kindness and love of
God our Saviour for humanity were revealed,
then He saved us--not because we were good
enough to be saved, but because of His
kindness and pity--by washing away our sins
and giving us the new joy of the indwelling

self-control. Here there is no conflict with the
law.

We must set our minds on "the
things of the Spirit"
Romans 8:5-6 Those who let themselves be
controlled by their lower natures live only to
please themselves, but those who follow after
the Holy Spirit find themselves doing those
things that please God. Following after the
Holy Spirit leads to life and peace, but
following after the old nature leads to death.

It is "by the Spirit you put to
death the deeds of the body"
Romans 8:11-13 The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus
from the dead, lives in you. And just as He raised
Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal
body by this same Spirit living within you. Therefore,
brethren, it is not to our lower natures that we are
under obligation that we should live by their rule. For
if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die,
but if by the Spirit you continually put to death the
activities of the body, you will live.

The Holy Spirit "makes
intercession for us" in our prayers
The Holy Spirit helps us with our daily problems and
in our praying. For we don't even know what we
should pray for, nor how to pray as we should; but the
Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot
be expressed in words and he who can see into all
hearts knows what the Spirit means because the
prayers that the Spirit makes for God's holy people are
always in accordance with the mind of God.
