Saved by Grace through Faith

Saved by Grace
through Faith
Ephesians 2:8,9: For by grace you
have been save through faith, and
that not of yourselves; it is the
gift of God, not of works, lest
anyone should boast.
THIS MUST BE A FUNDAMENTAL
AGREEMENT.
Under the blood
of the Passover Lamb
When God was determined to destroy
the first born of man and beast in
Egypt, through His grace He provided
a way for Israel to escape the plague.
If Israel would put the blood of the
lamb on the door posts and lintel of
the house, God would spare those in
the house.
Notice that Grace gave the plan, but
Israel in faith had to paint the blood of
the lamb on the door.
Christ is the Lamb of God
• John the Baptist’s Testimony of
Jesus:
John 1:29 -- Behold, the Lamb of
God, that takes away the sin of
the world.
Christ is the Lamb of God
• Christ is our Passover Lamb
I Corinthians 5:7—Therefore,
purge out the old leaven, that you
may be a new lump, since you
truly are unleavened. For indeed
Christ, our Passover, was
sacrificed for us.
Christ is the Lamb of God
• Christ is the lamb slain
Revelation 5:9—And they sang a
new song, saying: For you are
worthy to take the scroll, and to
open the seals; for you were slain,
and have redeemed us to God by
Your blood.
Christ is the Lamb of God
• The blood of Jesus covers
us so we can come near to
God
Ephesians 2:13—But now in
Christ Jesus you where once
far off have been brought
near by the blood of Christ.

The Question: How did CHRIST
Tell us to come under His
Blood?
In the rest of this study, we are going to
look at the common plan taught by
evangelical churches and compare
that to what the scripture says. This
study in no way denies grace or faith.
It is answering the question above.
Christ is the Lamb of God
Christ commands us to proclaim
the good news and He specified
the response to the gospel.

Coming under the Blood
How Men Teach It-1
You must confess that Jesus is
God, that He has authority over
your life, that He died on the cross
and rose from the dead to forgive
your sin. By faith you believe and
are made right with God.
Coming under the Blood
How Men Teach It-2
The Bible says, For everyone who
calls on the name of the Lord will
be saved. God wants you to trust
Him now by calling on the name of
His Son, Jesus Christ, for salvation.
Coming under the Blood
How Men Teach It-3
Would you like to do that: Are you
willing to turn to God from a life
style of sin and confess Jesus as
Lord of your life?
Coming under the Blood
How Men Teach It-4
If so, pray this prayer:
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know I am a sinner and need
forgiveness from You. I believe you
died on the cross and rose from the
dead so that I might receive eternal life.
I turn from my sins and ask for
forgiveness from you. Right now I trust
You as my Savior and will follow you as
my Lord.
Coming under the Blood
What Jesus Expects-1
You must in faith confess that
Jesus is the Son of the Living God,
that He has authority over your life,
that He died on the cross and rose
from the dead to forgive your sin.
Coming under the Blood
What Jesus Expects-2
You must repent of sin and
disobedience to God, and trusting
Christ, walk in obedience to Him.
Coming under the Blood
What Christ Expects-3
Could you agree with contents of
the two previous slides? Most
people would recognize that the
contents of slides 1-3 of How Men
Teach It and slides 1,2 of What
Christ Expects teach the same
thing. Where is the difference
then?
The Testimony of
Acts of the Apostles
We urge that you make a serious study
of the book of Acts and look at the
conversions of sinners to Christ found
in this book.
Try as we may, we find no evidence in
the story of conversions to Christ of
any one coming under the blood of
Jesus by saying the prayer in slide 4
of How Men Teach It.
Coming Under the Blood
Christ’s Plan
Ephesians 5:26-Christ gave
Himself for the Church that
he might sanctify and
cleanse her with the
washing of water by the
word.
Coming Under the Blood
Christ’s Plan
Titus 3:4,5-According to his
mercy he saved us through
the washing of regeneration
and renewing of the Holy
Spirit.
Coming Under the Blood
Christ’s Plan
Make disciples of the nations
and baptize them in the
name of Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit-Matt. 28:18-20
He that believes and is
baptized will be savedMark 16:16
Why Baptism?
• Acts 2:38 - Baptism is for
the remission of sins.
• Acts 22:16- Baptism is the
time that our sins are
washed away.
• 1 Peter 3:21-Baptism is the
place that our conscience is
made right.
Why Baptism?
• Romans 6:3-6 - Baptism is
the place where we are
crucified with Christ.
• Galatians 3:26,27 - Baptism
is the place where we in
faith put on Christ.
• Acts 2:38-Baptism is the
place that God gives us the
Holy Spirit.
Why Baptism?
• Baptism is the in time at which
we call on the name of the Lord.
Acts 22:16
• Baptism is the place at
which we in faith are buried
with Christ and circumcised
from our sins.
Colossians 2:11-13
Why Baptism?
Conclusions
• Baptism is the point in time in
which we come under the blood
of Jesus.
• Baptism is the point in time at
which God fully bestows His
Grace on us.
Why Baptism?
• Since Christ commands
baptism, it is the point at
which we show we have faith
which produces obedience.
• Man tells you to demonstrate
this with a prayer.
WHO WILL YOU TRUST?
Colossians 2:8-10
COMING UNDER THE BLOOD
• Israel was saved by grace through
faith when they painted the blood of
the lamb on the door. They had to
manifest their faith in simple
obedience to the word of God.
Without this obedience, they would
have had the plague strike them just
as it did the Egyptians.
COMING UNDER THE BLOOD
• We likewise by grace through faith are
saved from the plague of sin. We likewise must have the blood of the Lamb
painted on us to escape the plague.
We manifest our faith in simple
obedience to the will of God by being
baptized into Christ (coming under His
Blood) according to His command.
COMING UNDER THE BLOOD
• Israel earned nothing by acting upon
the command of God. They simply
trusted the word of God and acted in
faith.
• We earn nothing when we act upon
the command of Christ to be baptized.
We simply trust the word of Christ and
act in faith.
COMING UNDER THE BLOOD
Which command will you obey:
1)SAY THIS PRAYER RIGHT NOW
(The teaching of men)
2) BELIEVE AND BE BAPTIZED
(The teaching of Christ)
IT CANNOT BE WRONG TO OBEY
CHRIST, THE LAMB OF GOD!
Luke 6:46-49
