St Paul's Four Journey's
Brandon Lauton
St Paul and his missions.
St Paul went on four
missions around the
known world. He
travelled on boats,
was bitten by snakes
and many other bad
things. But he still
went on mission
around.
First Journey
AD 46 - 48
Acts was

On Paul's first journey(this
his shortest
travelled from the city of Antioch in modern day Israel and
ended in Derbe in modern day Turkey. He travelled with
Barnabus. From Paul's writings Barnabus "was a good
man, full of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 11:24). Paul helped much
more people to believe in Jesus.

proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues..."
This tells us that in Cyprus there were Jews. After
they had gone through the whole island they
encountered a false prophet. His name was BarJesus. Paul being full of the Holy Spirit said "you will
be blind for a while unable to see the sun.
Immediately mist went over him and he was calling
for someone to lead him by hand." (Acts 13:11). Paul
had shown the Jewish people around him the power
God had given him, shortly after they became
believers.
Acts 14:5-6 "And when an attempt was made by both
Gentiles and Jews... To stone them. The apostles
learned of this and fled " This told me that in Iconium
the apostles were almost stoned. This also meant
that Paul's (and others) job was very dangerous .
Which tells us how much faith Paul and his friends

Paul didn't go with Barnabus but instead went with
Silas and Timothy (Acts 16). He had a disagreement

with Barnabus because of issues on their last journey.
This journey led Paul from Troas in modern day
Turkey across the sea to Philippi in Macedonia. Again
Paul helped lots of people to believe in Jesus Christ.
Paul ended this journey in Athens, Ancient Greece

Paul and Silas were kept in prison for a short amount of
time. (Acts 16:16-40) At about midnight a while into their
Journey
sentences Paul and Silas were singing hymns to God when
suddenly an earthquake broke the chains of every prisoner
and opened every door. The guard was shame filled and
wanted to kill himself, but Paul stopped him and said "do
not harm yourself, for we are all here" (Acts 16:28) "Believe
on The Lord Jesus and you will be saved , you and your
household." (Acts 16:31) The guard gave his life to Jesus.
Notes from that part of the journey : Paul helped a roman
guard believe in Jesus. Also this story reminds us again of
how much belief Paul had in Jesus that he even went to
prison and kept believing.
Third journey
AD
53-57
This journey started again
in Antioch as he went
18:23 - 21:16
throughActs
Athens, Corinth
and eventually ended in
Jerusalem after perilous
journeys over the sea. He
met many Jewish
Christians that he had help
convert on his other
journeys.
He started even more
ministries in places like
Ephesus and Apollos.

Acts 19:21-41. Paul decided to go to Jerusalem
through Macedonia and Achaia. So he stayed a little
longer in Asia. But in Ephesus because of Paul's
preaching there was turmoil in the way of religion.
Paul insisted that the hand made gods they used
were not gods. But some of the people insisted that
"Great is Artemis of Ephesus" . The whole city
started arguing about the true God. The people took
two of Paul's fellow missionaries into a theatre. Only
after a while, the town "clerk was able to calm the
crowd... For what has happened today , there is
danger that we will be accused of riot. After saying
this, the clerk and Paul dismissed the meeting." Acts
19:35 , Acts 19:40-41

Paul gave a speech to the elders of Ephesus. His

On this journey Paul started in

Paul's Shipwreck. "About midnight on the fourteenth
night of the storm, as we were being driven across
the sea, the sailors sensed the land was near" (Acts
27:27) Paul and 276 of his fellow missionaries were
all caught I a massive storm just off Malta. When
morning dawned they saw a bay with a beach. The
ship was beginning to break apart and everyone tried
to reach for the shore.
Event on the Fourth and
Final Journey.
Once they got ashore, Paul was gathering sticks
"and was putting them on the fire when a snake
came out on account of heat and bit him. But Paul
shook the snake off into the fire without being
harmed at all. They were waiting for him to swell up
or suddenly fall dead." (Acts 28:3,5-6). Paul was not
phased by the fact that the Snake had bit him, as he
knew God would help
