Sight Words •Sight words come home on Friday of this week. •Your child may test one list a week. •They must read the list fluently in 30 seconds or less. •After they pass a list a new list will come home to practice. Writing The Writing Process: 6 Trait+1 •Ideas, Sentence Fluency, Organization, Word Choice, Voice, and Conventions. Click find a list, then search by zip code 64078, then click Sheri Capper. • Weekly Reading Booklog: Students are encouraged to read and record their reading on the reading log. Students will receive a reading log on the last day of each week. Students need return their reading log on the final day of the week. • Student may fill out the reading log but an adult must sign it. • Math Homework is sent home on Tuesday and needs to be return on the last day of the week. Report Cards Standards Reference Grading •Scale of 3, 2, 1 Report Cards will come home quarterly •1st quarter report cards will be given at Parent teacher conferences. •2nd-4th quarter will come home via email. Library Expectations • We will have weekly classroom visits with a library lesson and check out. • Students will be able to return books on a daily basis. • Rereading Library books can aid in: • Fluency • Decoding • Comprehension Snacks/Birthdays • • • • • We have snack time daily in the afternoon. Easy to open snacks that do not require a fork or spoon. Water bottles with sports tops are encouraged. Birthday snacks must be from the approved snack list. If your child has food allergies please inform the teacher. Newsletter • Newsletters are sent home via email on the last day of last day of the week with important weekly and monthly information. • Please check your child’s backpack nightly for important information. • Please refer to the teachers weebly website for newsletters, spelling words, sight words etc. PTA • • • • •Memberships are $5.00Fees help pay for: Field trips Free book fair books Academic Achievement Parties Classroom Materials Box Tops for Education •Our school receives money for box tops, please look for them on the items you purchase. •Cut them out and send them home with your child’s teacher’s name on the baggie.
