Lesson 3: Design a Super Athlete Today we will think about how we use our bodies to do different things. Lesson 3: Design a Super Athlete How many sports can you think of that use these body parts? From: Fizzy Subject: Challenge 3 Hello everyone, Well done for completing my second challenge. You’re all brilliant at investigating! It’s time for your last challenge and it’s the trickiest of all. For Challenge 3, you are going to design your own Super Athletes. Look at the next 2 slides to help you get started, then get in the zone and start designing! Good luck! Fizzy Lesson 3: Design a Super Athlete Fizzy’s Final Challenge What is a Super Athlete like? Lesson 3: Design a Super Athlete Design a Super Athlete 1. Choose an activity. (E.g. bean-bag throwing.) 2. Which muscles do you think your athlete will use most in this activity? (E.g. upper arm muscles/lower arm muscles/hand muscles/shoulder muscles.) 3. Design an experiment to test your prediction. (E.g. I will try throwing using just my shoulder/hand/upper arm/lower arm muscles and measure how far the bean bag goes for each.) 4. How will you make it a fair test? (E.g. the same person will carry out all the tests.) 5. Draw your Super Athlete and label the important muscles. From: Fizzy Subject: Congratulations Super Athletes! Hello everyone, Congratulations! You have completed all three challenges and are now members of Fizzy’s Super Athletes’ Club! I’ve sent you some club wristbands to write your names on. Enjoy wearing them and remember: Stay fit! Stay healthy! Keep investigating!
