thinking; it is an inner conviction based on the
Word of God (Rom. 10:17).
In 11:1 the word substance means “assurance”

The lessons of this chapter are many, but
perhaps it would be helpful to mention two:
1. God works through our faith. Exercising
faith is the only way to please Him and
receive His blessings.
2. Our faith is always tested; at times it seems
that trusting God is foolish, but faith
always conquers in the end.
Without faith (trusting obedience) it is
impossible to please God. Who is ready to
respond to Jesus?
