By Sydney Finch and Lilly Schlemmer Lilly and Sydney 4/9/2015 If you had three wishes, what would you wish for? This may be a fantasy to some people, but in these two mystical stories, it comes to life starting with just two words, I WISH…… Many similarities and differences occur in both Monkey’s Paw, By W. W. Jacobs, and Aladdin, By Disney. In “Monkeys Paw” and “Aladdin”, both stories display characters wishing for their life to become better. In the “Monkey’s Paw”, Mr. White was “hypnotized” by the idea of being granted three wishes. However, he did not know that those three wishes would lead his life to terrible misfortune. In “Aladdin”, a genie comes upon a young street rat, Aladdin, and offers him three wishes. Although, this was tempting to Aladdin, he later finds out that those three wishes cause him trouble and mischief with a dazzling princess that needs to marry, Jasmine. In the end, each character in both stories learn a valuable lesson that will 1 dictate how they live their life.
