Get ready to Read Away!
Follow these steps to make sure that your child really knows
the new words.
1. Write the words [a, girl] on card and stick them in frequently used
places.
2. Without warning ask your child to identify and call either word.
3. Use letter tiles and have your child build the words.
4. Use other print materials and get your child to spot the words.
5. Cut out [a, girl] from books and magazines and start a word scrap
book.
6. Sing the letters g..i..r..l to familiar tunes for easy spelling.
Remember to REWARD! REWARD! REWARD! for every attempt.
