TECHNOLOGY IN ANCIENT EGYPT HOW TO MAKE A GLASS POT 1.Glassmakers used damp sand and dung to make the mold for the pot. 2.Next they attached a metal rod and kept it in there until it hardened in the kiln. 3.Then they dipped it in a hot bowl of melted glass and turned it evenly. 4.Last of all paint your designs and you’re done! HOW TO MAKE A MUD BRICK • To make mud bricks, people used water and mixed it with dirt and cut with a saw. Then the block was pressed and all the moisture came out and they left it to harden. And it makes a nice dinner for the hunter! They used other traps as a simple dagger or axe to kill. The average length for a dagger is about 5 in. long and an axe is about 1 ft. tall. THE SICKLE & SHADUF A sickle was used on land to harvest crops. A man held the sickle and cut the crops, the crops were mostly wheat or barley. The executive was a watering device made from and a counterweight. It was used to lift water from a river, ocean, canal, etc. WORKERS AND PYRAMIDS Each worker carried two granite hammers and two copper chisels. The Egyptians built mud ramps and hauled bricks higher to the pyramid and even some bricks weighed more than two tons! It takes about twenty years to build one single pyramid! FARMING TOOLS Egyptians used wooden sickles to harvest their crops. They ground up flour by crushing it with a stone. They made wine using the bagpress and squeezed juice out of grapes.
