Exalt
Acts 2:41-47

those who received his word were baptized, and
there were added that day about three thousand
souls.
42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles'
teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread
and the prayers.
Exalt
Acts 2:41-47
43 And
awe came upon every soul, and many wonders
and signs were being done through the apostles.
44 And all who believed were together and had all
things in common.
45 And they were selling their possessions and
belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any
had need.
Exalt
Acts 2:41-47
46 And
day by day, attending the temple together and
breaking bread in their homes, they received their
food with glad and generous hearts,
47 praising God and having favor with all the people.
And the Lord added to their number day by day those
who were being saved.
Exalt
Psalm 63:1-11
1O
God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
Exalt
Psalm 63:1-11
3 Because
your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
4 So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,
and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
Exalt
Psalm 63:1-11
6 when
I remember you upon my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.
8 My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.
Exalt
Psalm 63:1-11
9 But
those who seek to destroy my life
shall go down into the depths of the earth;
10 they shall be given over to the power of the sword;
they shall be a portion for jackals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God;
all who swear by him shall exult,
for the mouths of liars will be stopped.
Exalt
Consumer vs. Consumed
1. Consumer says, “What’s in it for me”;
the Consumed says, “I’m in it for You.”
2. Consumer says, “Worship is a
segmented thing”; Consumed says,
“It’s a life thing.”
Exalt
Consumer vs. Consumed
3. Consumer believe Worship is created for
them; Consumed believe worship has its
end in God alone.
Exalt
Psalm 24:1-10
1 The
earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
2 for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
3 Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
Exalt
Psalm 24:1-10
4 He
who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.
Exalt
Psalm 24:1-10
7 Lift
up your heads, O gates!
And be lifted up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD, strong and mighty,
the LORD, mighty in battle!
Exalt
Psalm 24:1-10
9 Lift
up your heads, O gates!
And lift them up, O ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The LORD of hosts,
he is the King of glory! Selah
Exalt
Consumer vs. Consumed
1. Consumer say, “What are we getting out of
this?”; Consumed are always thinking
about what they can bring.
2. Consumers focus attention and worry on
style; Consumed understand worship as a
point of surrender.
Exalt
Consumer vs. Consumed
3. Consumers look at worship as solely
something to enjoy; Consumed understand
it as costly.
Exalt
1 Chronicles 29:10-21
10 Therefore
David blessed the LORD in the presence of
all the assembly. And David said: “Blessed are you, O
LORD, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and
the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that
is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is
the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head
above all.
Exalt
1 Chronicles 29:10-21
12 Both
riches and honor come from you, and you rule
over all. In your hand are power and might, and in
your hand it is to make great and to give strength to
all.
13 And now we thank you, our God, and praise your
glorious name.
Exalt
1 Chronicles 29:10-21
14 “But
who am I, and what is my people, that we
should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things
come from you, and of your own have we given you.
15 For we are strangers before you and sojourners, as
all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are like a
shadow, and there is no abiding.
Exalt
1 Chronicles 29:10-21
16 O LORD
our God, all this abundance that we have
provided for building you a house for your holy name
comes from your hand and is all your own.
17 I know, my God, that you test the heart and have
pleasure in uprightness. In the uprightness of my
heart I have freely offered all these things, and now I
have seen your people, who are present here,
offering freely and joyously to you.
Exalt
1 Chronicles 29:10-21
18 O LORD,
the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, our
fathers, keep forever such purposes and thoughts in
the hearts of your people, and direct their hearts
toward you.
19 Grant to Solomon my son a whole heart that he
may keep your commandments, your testimonies,
and your statutes, performing all, and that he may
build the palace for which I have made provision.”
Exalt
1 Chronicles 29:10-21
20 Then
David said to all the assembly, “Bless the LORD
your God.” And all the assembly blessed the LORD, the
God of their fathers, and bowed their heads and paid
homage to the LORD and to the king.
21 And they offered sacrifices to the LORD, and on the
next day offered burnt offerings to the LORD, 1,000
bulls, 1,000 rams, and 1,000 lambs, with their drink
offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel.
Exalt
Consumer vs. Consumed
1. Consumers see worship as social interaction;

relationship.
2. Consumers understand worship as something
you buy; Consumed are stunned that
they’ve already been bought.

and dislike; Consumed ask God, “How did
You feel about it?”
4. Consumers exalt their preferences; Consumed

1 Have
mercy on me, O God,
according to your steadfast love;
according to your abundant mercy

and cleanse me from my sin!
Exalt
Psalm 51:1-19
3 For
I know my transgressions,
and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against you, you only, have I sinned
and done what is evil in your sight,
so that you may be justified in your words
and blameless in your judgment.
Exalt
Psalm 51:1-19
5 Behold,
I was brought forth in iniquity,
and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, you delight in truth in the inward being,
and you teach me wisdom in the secret heart.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean;
wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
Exalt
Psalm 51:1-19
8 Let
me hear joy and gladness;
let the bones that you have broken rejoice.
9 Hide your face from my sins,
and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God,
and renew a right spirit within me.
Exalt
Psalm 51:1-19
11 Cast
me not away from your presence,
and take not your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
and uphold me with a willing spirit.
13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways,
and sinners will return to you.
Exalt
Psalm 51:1-19
14 Deliver
me from bloodguiltiness, O God,
O God of my salvation,
and my tongue will sing aloud of your righteousness.
15 O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare your praise.
16 For you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give
it; you will not be pleased with a burnt offering.
Exalt
Psalm 51:1-19
17 The
sacrifices of God are a broken spirit;
a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not
