Lesson Objectives • Explain the methods the Nazis used to create a totalitarian state in Germany • Use evidence from your study of Nazi Germany to explain why Germany was Fascist • Explain why Hitler was successful in gaining support and popularity from the German people. Germans had long valued a strong militaristic Germany since unification By producing an extensive war machine and other manufacturing projects Hitler substantially decreased unemployment HITLER ESTABLISHED A CULT OF PERSONALITY As we looked at yesterday, through Propaganda, the Nazi’s built a cult of personality around Hitler which portrayed the following: He always knew what was best for Germany He was both strong and loving (father analogy) He produced results
