Making a change
• Animal Abuse- the infliction of suffering or harm upon
animals.
• If we stop animal cruelty we could save up to 300,000
animals a year
• By making animal abuse illegal we could make the united
states a better country
• Unfortunately the Government turned down the law to ban
animal abuse saying it violated constitutional guarantees of
free speech and created a "criminal prohibition of alarming
breadth.“
Life as a Hostage
• If anyone actually took the time to read the back of a shampoo bottle they
would realize that animal testing is actually a bigger deal than they think
• About 90% of the products used today are tested on animals and more
than half of the tests involve pain.
Hobbs Story
Hobbes, the cat, has been under experimentation for most of
his life. This is probably the last time that he will ever have to be
experimented on again. Why? Because he is probably not going
to make it through this time, the makers of Herbal Essences are
about to force shampoo down his throat to see what happens to
‘it’s’ organs. Even if ‘it’ lives through the process, they are going
to have to kill ‘it’ to see which organs could have been damaged.
Fur coats are cool, for an animal to wear
•
Passive Abuse is not taking any form of action, for example allowing a dog
to starve or failing to alleviate pain to an injured or ill animal
Active cruelty requires committing an act which inflicts pain such as cutting
off a limb, stabbing, choking or punching
• Many people don’t realize that what they are doing is bad but some do it
to :
-control an animal
-express anger
-shock people for amusement
• Some unlucky animals just get off to a bad start at Puppy Mills. The
‘prisoners of greed’ are constantly bread as unhealthy and genetically
defective solely for profit. It is estimated that 500,000 dogs are born in
puppy mills each year
