Now Jan has 3 fifths instead of 1 fraction unit of treats (Remember unit fractions are 1/2, 1/3, 1/4) Before we find 1/3 of Jan’s 3/5, let’s visualize this. If there are 3 bananas, how many would 1/3 of the bananas be? What is 1/3 of 3 pens? What is 1/3 of 3 books? So, then, what is 1/3 of 3 fifths?
