Raptor Rules
Follow school-wide rules

Students can bring water bottles to class (except
Science Lab)

Severe Clause – The teacher has the right to send a student
to the office without going through the chain of
consequences.
Grading Policies
30% Tests
25% Quizzes
20% Classwork, Participation, Effort
25% Homework
It is my expectation the students put 100% effort into their
work. Random effort grades will be given throughout the year.
Homework Policy
Assigned nightly Mondays through Fridays and checked on
Fridays at the start of class.
Homework will be accepted one day late as long as this
does not become a pattern.
Refer to the student planner for make-up work due to
excused absences.
Parents can offer some guidance, however, I expect that the
majority of the work is to be completed by the student.
Homework
Homework will be graded on the following “5” criteria
Neatness
Effort
Complete
Corrected (with error analysis)
Turned in On Time
5 Points = All 5 Criteria Met
4 Points = 4 out of 5 criteria met
3 Points = 3 out of 5 criteria met
2 Points = 2 out of 5 Criteria Met
1 Point = 1 out of 5 Criteria Met
0 = No Criteria Met or Not Turned In
Quiz Procedures
Students take daily quizzes on content taught the
previous day.
They will begin a quiz paper each Monday and use this
same paper each day of the week through Friday.
Each Friday, quiz papers are collected. This procedure
is environmentally friendly.
Quiz papers are returned to students the following
week.
Testing Procedures
Chapter tests will occur at the end of each chapter.
Students are permitted to bring in a 3X5 “cheat card” that
they will be allowed to read over halfway through the test.
In class chapter reviews will be completed the day prior to
the test.
Encourage your child to study their notes every day!
Missing Work
If your child has a missing grade on eSembler, one of
the following has occurred:
1. The paper had no name and the work was placed in
my “no name” folder.
2. The student did the work, but forgot to turn it in.
3. The student did not do the required work.
