It is the factor that makes the difference between outstanding success and ordinary success. It is not free. It has a price that when you pay it, it will be yours. Outlines: 1. WHAT IS DIVINE FAVOUR? 2. CONDITIONS FOR DIVINE FAVOUR 3. RESULTS OF DIVINE FAVOUR Outline 1: WHAT IS DIVINE FAVOUR? • Divine favour is God’s good face – Numbers 6:25-26. • It means support of the Almighty God – Proverbs 16:15. • It is life – Psalm 30:5. • Divine favour denotes divine preference where God prefers you to others. • It also means the mercy of the Almighty God – Psalm 44:3. • It is divine peace. • Once divine favour comes into play, it means goodness. Outline 2: CONDITIONS FOR DIVINE FAVOUR. Divine favour does not come by accident. It is prayed in – Genesis 43:29, Numbers 6:24-26, Psalm 31:16, Psalm 67:1, Daniel 9:17. It is purchased by obedience – Exodus 19:15, 1 John 3:22. It needs attention. Moses was called in the burning bush and when he stopped to observe, the Lord began speak to him – Exodus 3:3-4. Divine favour comes when God wants to keep a covenant – 2 Kings 13:23. Praises can also bring about divine favour – Isaiah 33:2. The highest level of divine favour is God’s presence – John 12:32, Psalm 22:3, John 8:29, Acts 2:47. Outline 3: RESULTS OF DIVINE FAVOUR. Divine favour assures security – Proverbs 16:7. Another result of divine favour is mercy. When God favours you, His mercy would be present with you. Remember, Sarah laughed, yet she was forgiven – Genesis 18:12-13. The same happened to David – 2 Samuel 12:13. Divine favour satisfies and restores lost grounds – Jeremiah 32:4142. Above all, divine favour exalts the saints – Psalm 89:17. CONCLUSION After going through the three major conditions for divine favour, the best thing to do therefore is to prayerfully desire, knowing that the Author and Finisher of our faith will mercifully grant the request.
