Muscle Contraction Skit By BB • “Contraction in Action” Muscle Contraction Skits • Anatomy & Physiology/Tissues, Bones and Muscles • Purpose: To create a live model or skit of approximately 3 minutes to demonstrate muscle anatomy and the physiology of muscle contraction. • Directions: • Each group member must have at least one part/role in the live model or skit. • Required parts/roles include: muscle fiber, myofibril, sarcomere, thin (actin) filament, thick (myosin) filament, Z disc (line), H zone, I band and A band, ATP and ADP. • Each part/role must be clearly identified to the audience either verbally or in writing. • The model/skit MUST explain the sliding filament theory of muscle contraction/relaxation. • The model/skit should be BOTH creative AND scientifically accurate. • You will have approximately half and hour to prepare your model/skit. At that time you must be prepared to perform your model/skit to the class.
