IMAGERY AND THE FIVE SENSES
IMAGERY
Definition: the author’s use of descriptive
or figurative language to create a picture in
the reader’s mind.
- Can you see/hear/feel what the author is writing?
- Use your five senses to engage with the text
Examples: “empty as a jungle glade at hot high noon” line 25

Close your eyes and visualize where you are and how you
feel as this video plays – then share with person next to you

Your task:
