Describe the reactions of Juliet’s father and mother when Paris proposes marriage to their daughter. How are their opinions the same, and how are they different? Juliet’s father thinks Juliet is till too young to marry, but Juliet’s mother thinks she is old enough Juliet’s parents both think that she should have a say in whether she wants to marry Paris or not. Juliet’s mother is more eager to put forward Paris’s suit than Juliet’s father is. The mother urges Juliet to look favorably upon Paris; the father encourages Paris to look favorably upon all the young ladies at the festivities, not just Juliet. Juliet’s mother and the nurse agree Juliet is old enough to be married. Tybalt’s FOIL is Capulet. When Tybalt first tells Capulet that Romeo is the son of his enemy Capulet tells Tybalt to ignore Romeo.
