What Exactly is TAS Fair?
A chance for you or a team of 4 friends to
create something on or something for the
computer in one of three categories…
Innovative Idea
Innovative Use
Innovative Creation
Innovative Idea
Innovative Ideas – The idea category is purely for ideas without
application/building or creating any actual model or working item. Nonworking models, picture, diagrams, written or other means of explanations
(such as video) of idea are sufficient for this category. “Ideas” can focus on
any one of the following example areas and should include a students
interest or talent:

New Applications/Games Idea
New Non-gaming Software Idea
New Improvements for current technology related items Idea
New Hardware Idea
New Technology to Aid People in Need (locally, nationally or globally) Idea
New Web design/ Website Idea
Other Computer Based Idea (To Be Approved)

Innovative Use
Innovative Use – The “Use” category is for the demonstration of
current technology to enhance knowledge or demonstrate creativity. These
projects are created by students using current technology, include the
following example areas, and should include a students’ interest or talent:

Photo/Music/Film/Video using editing software (no longer than 7 min.)
Non-Gaming Software Application to Aid People in Need (locally, nationally
or globally) or Advance Knowledge
Website Design
Other Use (To be Approved)

Innovative Creation
Innovative Creations – In the “Creation” category students focus on
inventing a new technology. Each entry must be accompanied by an actual
working technology related item or a “near working” model. These are
creation by students themselves that could be turned into technology based
products. “Inventions” can focus on any one of the following example areas
and should include a students interest or talent:

How do I Participate?
- Create an idea and/or find a team for the competition and create and
idea together
- Get your parents permission and signature
- Write down the basic project idea on the entry form
- Turn in the idea and “Commitment to Participate” entry form for
approval to start
- Start learning and creating (using the student guide sheet)
- Check-In Each Month (October, November and December)
- Present your final project to the judges…Congratulations! You did it!
