Example of a Chain of Production in action: BREAD
1. MATERIALS EXTRACTION: Wheat is grown on farms, then harvested.
2. PRODUCTION: Wheat is transported to a mill where it is turned into flour to
be sold locally or overseas.
3. TRANSPORTATION: The flour is transported to bakeries where various
ingredients (yeast, salt and grains) are added to turn the raw product (flour)
into dough.
4. USE: The dough is then baked into bread, which can be sold in bakeries or
supermarkets.
