You do not need to turn your clicker on. It is always on.
When not being used, the clicker will remain in ‘sleep’ mode. You will not see any lights or display.
Press any number and the light will flash briefly; if you have an LCD screen, the number will be displayed.
If you do not see any lights or display, check to see if the tab on the battery has been removed. If you need help, contact the Clicker Support Team in Room 200 of the new
Classroom and Business Building. (Tel: 832-842-2143 or
832-842-2145)
When you come to class, set the channel for that instructor.
Press CH (or GO on the non-LCD version).
The lights will flash red/green.
Enter the two-digit channel number.
Press CH (or GO on the non-LCD model) again.
(A steady green light will appear for a few seconds.)
IMPORTANT :
Once you set the channel do not press CH again for the rest of the class.
When a clicker question comes up, and your clicker appears to be asleep. DO NOT PRESS THE CHANNEL BUTTON to activate it.
Your clicker does not need to be activated once the channel has been set.
Just press your answer choice and you are done.
If you happen to press CH, complete the sequence:
CH + two-digit channel number + CH, and then submit your answer.
When a clicker question opens up, wait for the green
“Polling Open” indicator.
Press your answer choice. Do not press anything else.
A green light indicates your answer was received.
That means your answer was not received. Here are some reasons why:
You are on the wrong channel.
You pressed CH before submitting your answer.
You responded before polling opened or after it closed.
You made an invalid choice – such as selecting 5, when there are only 4 answer choices.
YES YOU CAN! The receiver only stores the last choice you made.
Make sure polling is still open before you change your answer!
If the clicker appears to be “asleep” (no lights, no display) you need to turn it on before answering the question.
