What exactly is the “Tithe?”
Tithe means “Tenth”
It is a tenth of one’s income given to God .
Genesis 28:20-22
Jacob made a vow, saying, "…the LORD shall be my God…and of all that You give me I will surely give a tenth to You."
The Tithe is “Holy to the Lord.”
“Holy” means “set apart,” “uncommon”
Leviticus 27:30-32
The tithe of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the
LORD’S. It is holy to the LORD. And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock, of whatever passes under the rod, the tenth one shall be holy to the LORD.
The Tithe is “Holy to the Lord.”
We don’t give “our” tithe,
We pay “the Lord’s” tithe!
Malachi 3:8
Will a man rob God? Yet you have robbed
Me! But you say, “In what way have we robbed You ?’” In tithes and offerings.
Why does God “want” the tithe?
Tithing proves to God that He is first in our lives!
