Replacement for Temperature Satellite project
in 2005
Grants from Ohio Space Grant Consortium and
National Science Foundation
Idea is to build “package” that will carry
electrical equipment to 100,000 ft, drop, freefall
for 35-40,000 ft, then deploy parachute
Past problems include unsuccessful parachute
deployment



Because of the altitude involved, we are at the
mercy of the elements at high altitude
Flight prediction software is extremely
important to a successful launch
Ultimate goal of the team is to find a design
that will significantly increase the likelihood of
a successful launch and recovery



