1) I am in utter favor of the project conducted by universities that offers
qualifications through online learning other than tranditional classroom
learning. Through my point of view, though there has long been
controversy over this topic concerning its pros and cons, actually there is
not any absolute disadvantages but only difficulties waitting to be
overcome, and the advantages the project can bring to us are
tremendous.
2) To start with the advantages of the project, first of all, online learning
is a method far more flexible than tranditional classroom learning. As
necessary in modern life for people to fit studies into their tight
schedules, flexiblity could lead more people to take part in higher
education. The second benefit is convenience, not only for the students

4）As for the professors, they also appreciate this education model very
well. An interview of the professor from Tsing Hua University presents
that he would rather record his courses on the Internet because he can
teach the courses once and save a lot of time to prepare for more
outstanding classes. The learning through the Internet is also a good way
to protect the professors' time. What's more, the professor emphases
that he has more students on the Internet who not only learn from him
but also give him a lot of good suggestions. In this way, he can improve
his teaching methods in a great step.
5）Although someone may point out that the communication between
teachers and students on the Internet may be worse than that in the
classroom, we believe the development of technology can help to solve
this problem through messages and other ways on line.
6）To sum up, the development of education is a well-worth try. So I
believe it has more advantages than disadvantages.

4. People learn things better from those at their own level – such as fellow
students or co-workers – than from those at a higher level, such as teachers
or supervisors.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?
1) Personally, I believe that people learn things from those who have a higher
level better than persons who have the same level with them. There are two
reasons below. Let me take the second language study as an example to
explain my opinion.
2) Firstly, people who are at the same level as the learner could be a good
cooperator but never be a good teacher. Nowadays, with the rapid formation
of the globalism, a mount of people involved themselves to study different
languages. A big part of them began to find the exchange language partners
in order to save money. [For instance, there are millions users in the italki.com
website, which is one of the biggest exchange language study websites in
China. ] However, the fact was that even though they could make a lot of
friends from different countries, their language level did not improve a lot
due to lack of a systemic language study. So it proved that there were only
limited effects if the same level persons helped each other learn something.
3) Secondly, people who have a higher level than the learner, such as teachers,
definitely are knowledgeable, erudite and methodological. [As we all knew
that the meaning of language is never only useful, but also a way of cultural
expression. As long as we learn a foreign language, we essentially need to
study the culture of that language.] Moreover, the methods of teaching are
also very important. Therefore, a professional teacher who has a higher level
than the learner is necessary. For example, almost students have the
vocabulary's problem when they study a second language. Only professional
teachers can teach them the roots of words, and more and more evidences
exhibited that it was the best way to increase our vocabularies. Additionally,
we may know the reason why an aquatic animal which has eight legs named
"octopus" was "octo-" means "eight". But why "October" is the tenth month
of a year? None of English language major students could answer this
question. The reason I learned it from a famous professor who are interested
in both English language and classic language is that actually "October" was
the eighth month in the old Roman calendar.
4) Consequently, if you want to find a person who just can company and
encourage you when you study, you can find one at your own level. However,
if you want to learn something new and deeper knowledge, the person who
has a higher level than you is your best choice.

teachers know how to help students learn most effectively. For

1） There is no deny that nowadays technology is booming as never
before, technology has bring a lot of convenience to our daily life.
However, at the same time ,technological development causes a lot of
envirnomental problems. As for this issue, different people hold different
opinions. Some people think a simple lifestyle can protect environment
while others argue that technology itself can solve it. As far as I can see,
the two viewpoints stand with reasons to some extent.
2） Firstly, imagine this. when technological development make cars
much cheapter, most people can afford it, it is not surprising that people
will choose to go to outside by car instead of by bike. But thanks to this
convenient lifesyle, it has lead to a serious air pollutions in many regions.
But if we change this into a simple lifestyle, many environmental
problems could be relief. For example, if we go to school or company on
foot or by bike, it can reduce a large mount of carbon diaoxide or
nitrogen dioxide emissions. If we go shopping with our own bags instead
of using plastic bags, the problem of soil erosion would be improved as
plastic material is very difficult to be degraded. There are many little
things involving a simple lifestyle. Moreover, this simple lifestyle is really
good for our environment.
3）However, sometimes, environmental problems may be too serious to
be solved only by a simple lifestyle, such as global warming, numerous
garbage in everywhere. At this time, we should depend on technological
power. We can develop clean energys like wind energy or nuclear energy
replacing fossil energy, I am convinced that the problem of global
warming will be improved greatly though this method.
4）As to numerous garbage, we could invent multi-function robots to
cope with it. So, technology also plays a very significant role in
protecting envirnoment.
5）Based on the above discussion and analysis ,we can easily see that
adapting a simple lifestyle is a good measure to improve our
environment. But when it comes to some big environmental problems,
technology is a indispensible method. we can't abandon any of them,
what's more, we should combine these two methods together. Only in
this way can we have a healthy environment for our generation.
