What is protectionism?

The theory or practice of shielding a country’s domestic
industries from foreign competition by taxing imports.
(Oxford dictionary)

Economics. the theory, practice, or system of fostering or
developing domestic industries by protecting them from
foreign competition through duties (Dictionary.com)

Any program, policy, or system of laws that seeks to provide
protection for property owners, wildlife, the envrionment,etc

has a fundamental right to be treated
equally with others regardless of their
distinctions such as property and status.
