This presentation has been prepared by the secretariat and co convenors of JWG36 (ISO/CASCO and ISO/TC 34/SC17) ISO 22003:2013 – changes to the new version March 2014 Page 2 Purpose of ISO/TS 22003 Introduction This Technical Specification has been developed to assist in the certification of Food Safety Management System (FSMS) that fulfil the requirements of ISO 22000. This Technical Specification is intended for use by bodies that carry out audit and certification of FSMS by providing generic requirements for such bodies ISO 22003:2013 – changes to the new version March 2014 Page 3 Joint ISO/TC34 SC 17 - ISO CASCO project ISO/TS 22003 first edition was published in 2007 and developed by a joint working group ISO/TC 34/SC 17 Management systems for food safety and ISO committee on conformity assessment (CASCO) ISO 22003:2013 – changes to the new version March 2014 Page 4 In February 2012 the New Work Item Proposal for the revision of ISO/TS 22003 has been approved and the project started with the 1st WG meeting in Copenhagen in March 2012. Reasons for revision To adopt a full compentency approach for the personnel involved in certification • In the 2007 version the ressource requirements were mostly based on qualification, level of education, training and work/audit experience for personnel involved in certification.
