What is Rio+20?
The United Nations Conference on
Sustainable Development (UNCSD) –
nicknamed Rio+20 - took place in Rio de
Janeiro, Brazil in June 2012. It was
attended by 193 countries. The aim was to
create a safer, more equitable, cleaner,
greener and more prosperous world.
Sustainable Development
Sustainable development (SD) is a pattern of
economic development in which resource use
aims to meet human needs while preserving the
environment so that these needs can be met not
only in the present, but also for generations to
come.
Sustainable development can be achieved only
through Action and Education.
Sustainable Development is a must
Ecological footprint in 2050- need more than 2 planets
Rio+20 Corporate Summit
Rio+20 Corporate Sustainability Forum was lead by 2700
participants including over 1000 business. Over US$500
billion were committed and 200 decisive commitments
made to achieve a sustainable future; to create the Future

Want.

What is Rio+20 India?
Indian Astrobiology Research Centre
(IARC), Mumbai is spearheading UNCSD
Rio+20
India
Program.
IARC
has
committed to UNCSD to take the Rio+20
message of Sustainable Development to
One Million Indians especially Students
and Corporate workforce by February
2013.

CORPORATE
PROGRAM
Corporate Program
Rio+20 India Certification Program for Corporates
consists of a half-day workshop and / or short
term leadership study for the corporate workforce.
The program emphasizes on building enthusiasm;
inspiration through education and interaction.
The program can be conducted as a HR / Employee Development
initiative. Please note it can be a CSR activity as well.
Registration Open till February 2013
Corporate Program
A Campaign Leader (appointed from within the corporate
entity) leads the program on premise
Minimum Participation: 20
Leadership Course Fee: Rs. 500
Leadership Study + Workshop: Rs. 1000
Each participant gets a book, CD and online access
Course Study
The course study focuses on possibilities & opportunities –
on latest climate change perspectives, the solutions, the
science, history and policy of it all, the heroes and more.
Each participant will receive a book (circa 100 pages), CD
(videos, ppt and ebooks) and online access.
Evaluation will be online.
Workshop
The workshop emphasizes on stimulating leadership; to
explore ways and means by which the knowledge and action
gap can be bridged across levels. It will focus on extracting
measurable commitments from participants.
Each participant will receive a book, CD and online access.
Half-day (4-6 hours) workshops delivered by scientist and
head of the Rio India Program; Pushkar Ganesh Vaidya.
The workshop will focus on evolutionary, economic and
cultural opportunities to achieve the Future We Want,

Completed Forms & Fee are sent Rio+20 India, Mumbai
Books and CDs are dispatched within 3 days
Workshop (if opted) delivered on mutually agreed dates
Online evaluation as requested by the participants
Certificate / Medals sent in Feb-Mar
