A facility to avail of funding that will enable sports clubs to develop and improve the facilities they currently use – aim is to maximise use in appropriate locations – priority is given to applications from disadvantaged areas Irish Amateur Rowing Union Sports Capital Grants Who can apply? Claims from clubs and organisations in Gaeltacht areas are not met from this programme – such applications must be made to the Department of Community Rural & Gaeltacht Affairs, Furbo, Co. Specific local facilities – 70% of the total approved eligible project costs Specific local facilities in disadvantaged areas – 80% of the total approved eligible project costs Irish Amateur Rowing Union Sports Capital Grants How much funding is available? National facilities – dependant on appropriateness & scale of the individual project The balance of the project cost to be met from own resources (fund-raising, external loan finance, sponsorship donations, etc) NOTE – actual amount awarded to each applicant is contingent on total amount of funding awarded from one year’s programme to all applicants Irish Amateur Rowing Union Sports Capital Grants What can the funding be used for? Provision of new or improvement to existing sporting facilities only Capital Expenditure: e.g.; new changing rooms & shower facilities; training pool; equipment storage areas, etc Irish Amateur Rowing Union Sports Capital Grants What can the funding be used for? Special requirements: Projects with estimated costs exceeding €500k require a feasibility study to be carried out Irish Amateur Rowing Union Sports Capital Grants Application Procedure 2. 3.
