He was also the protector of the mummies in the dangerous transformation from between death rebirth in the afterlife. Carter had been searching for this tomb for many years. Carnavon had decided that he has spend to much money on the expedition with not enough reward. They were about to close the expedition but the next day Carter had discovered Tutankhamen’s Tomb! To this day Tutankhamen's remains are still in his tomb.
