Reclassification Criteria



Over CELDT Score of Early Advanced or
Advanced (Level 4 or 5) with no subtest score
below Intermediate (Level 3).
Score Basic or better (300 and up) on the CST
ELA
C’s or better in English and Social Studies
courses

The Reclassification Process





Identify candidates.
Complete the MUHSD English Learner Reclassification
Data review sheet.
Consult the parent /guardian of the student regarding
the Reclassification Process and assessment results.
Document parent response on the review sheet.
If parent agrees to Reclassification, document the
change in status on the review sheet and sign the
document.
Complete the process by having an administrator review
and sign the completed Reclassification document as
final approval.

Send a copy of the completed English
Learner Reclassification Data review sheet
home accompanied by the RFEP Notification
letter.
Give the original to the registrar. The
registrar will make a note of the RFEP date in
Transcript box and place it in the student’s
cumulative file.
Step 1
Change the Language Fluency tag
from 3 – LEP to 4 - RFEP

Select H Language Tab to
document change on the Language
Assessment Data screen
Enter the Reclassification date.
Step 3
Redes. Dt = Redesignation Date,
the old term for Reclassification

Step 4
Document change in Language Fluency status in the
Counseling Screen.
Step 5
If timing is appropriate, change schedule. The RFEP
student no longer requires ELD and/or EL services.
Step 6
Monitor the student’s academic progress for two years.
