Mikhail Vasilyevich Lomonosov was born in November, 1711 in a small village Denisovka in the north of Russia, near Holmogory. In 11-12 years he started to study reading and writing. In one of December nights, having taken the things (basically - books),he has walked in Moscow to study sciences. In 1730 Lomonosov entered in Slavjano-Greek-Latin Academy He studied various subjects for six years and became one of the best students of Academy. In 1736, Lomonosov was awarded a scholarship to Saint Petersburg State University. He plunged into his studies and was rewarded with a two-year grant to study abroad at the University of Marburg, in Germany. In 1741 Lomonosov returned to Russia. Lomonosov’s international passport Lomonosov’s major scientific accomplishment was in the field of physical chemistry, with other notable discoveries in astronomy, geophysics, geology, metallurgy and mineralogy.
