The Strategic Skills Pipeline
An Education Perspective
What is it?
• Scottish Government Employability Framework
• A service delivery model to support people into
work
• Aim is to have consistency and a “joined-up”
approach across key partners
• Local Employability Partnerships responsible
for implementation
• The Pipeline has 5 Stages
What are the Stages?
The Pipeline stages should enable initial identification of support
needs, but also enable progression from “Not job ready” to “Job
ready” to “In work”
Stage 1: Referral / Engagement
Stage 2: Barrier removal
Stage 3: Vocational activity
Stage 4: Employer engagement / Job matching
Stage 5: In work support / Aftercare
